Any tampering with a wireless device, like removing it from its mount will bring up “6” but will go away once the device has been placed back properly with the tamper switch depressed. The alarm monitoring station is looking for a digital handshake from your alarm system.

Usually a “3” goes hand in hand with “4” which is failure to communicate. You may have changed providers, begun using a VoIP phone service or just changed the line that was being used for your alarm service. Trouble “3” is a sign that your telephone line cut, but more often than not, it is due to a change in your phone service. This should disappear once the power resumes. You may also want to check your breakers or fuses for the outlet the alarm system is powered by. If you find yourself showing a “2” means that you lost power and the security system is running on the back up battery. Go out and get a 12V 4amp battery that looks just like the one in the bottom of the alarm panel in your basement. This isn’t an urgent issue, but if your power goes out, so will your alarm. If you get a “1” showing on your security system’s keypad, it’s likely that your back up battery is getting low. If you have a DSC alarm system, press “* 2” on your keypad and you will be shown numbers which correlate to what kind of issue you are having.
